Where does the weekend go?
Well, I spent some of it finishing
up the last of my new stitching
patterns! I love how they turned out!
What I didn't write about yesterday was
that when we were out to lunch on Saturday,
Pam told me I need to be copying the interpreter
when they are signing the songs. Even if I don't
remember what a sign is, even if I can't keep
up, just copy. 4 out of the 5 songs we sang
yesterday I didn't even know. So I am
on my way to church yesterday and telling
God, "I can't do it and I'm not going to try."
When the music came on I found myself signing
anyway. Note to self: Don't tell God what
you are NOT going to do! And I actually did
pretty well. I surprised myself. The one song
I did know I still messed up a little on.
But I've been told by many people that no
one can see me from behind, first of all, and
secondly no one knows when you mess up
because they don't know sign. I would add
a third thing to that: You aren't signing for
them, you are signing for the deaf person
(although we don't have any deaf people
at this time) and you are signing for God.
He doesn't care if you mess up. All He
cares about is that you do your best!
I have an appointment today with a medicare
specialist who works with the council
on aging here in Angola. Hopefully I will
leave knowing exactly what I need to do
as far as supplemental insurance, etc. I hope
I don't need to get that as I really cannot
afford it. But I guess I just leave that
in God's hands like anything else.
I'm looking forward to tonight's class.
There is a deaf boy in this class so that
is interesting and gives us a little practice.
He's 18, I think. His mother and brother
are both coming as well. They all seem very nice.
