great design, not so great colour!

This card didn't come out like I hoped.
I don't like the colour of the card stock.
But it's still a great design.

maybe I'll make it again in a different card stock.

I took Lili to the vet yesterday and she
lost her balance and grabbed my arm
-with her beak, naturally, since she doesn't
have arms. She got me good, unfortunately.
It's really sore and might be infected.

Isaiah 40:31

but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Graduation day!

My grandson, Ethan, is now a graduate of Waldron
high school. I'm so proud of him! Here's pictures
of him, then him, Nathan, and Crystal.

He's a good looking kid if I don't say so myself!

As soon as I get the go-ahead from the physical
therapist and my doctor (who already gave me
his permission and will look at me funny if
I ask him again) I can be put back on the schedule
in June!  Yay!

Lili is going to the vet today and will be an
unhappy camper, but hey, she will be much easier
to handle without feeling like I'm holding a
handful of needles!

1 Peter 4:10

Each of you should use whatever gift
you have received to serve others,
as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

I have a list of verses I like and just go down
the list one by one. I'm pretty sure God is
out to get me the last two days, LOL!

Happy Monday!

One sheet wonder

This one sheet of paper was supposed to make
six cards. One of them completely disappeared.
Maybe I accidentally threw it away or something.
I looked everywhere and couldn't find it, but
five cards is good, too. A couple of them don't
look quite right and I might have to tweak
them, but overall, I like how they came out.

I think the ones at the top right and left need
a butterfly or something.  They look too plain.  So
I'll probably work on that.

Today is my grandson, Ethan's, graduation!  I
can't believe he is old enough to graduate
already!  They grow so quickly.  And I get
older and older....

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live,
but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body,
I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave himself for me.

Mushroom faerie

I love how this came out! So pretty!

I found this mushroom pattern a while
back but wasn't sure what to do with it.  Then
I remembered the faerie pictures so I went through
them and wouldn't you know, I had one with a
mushroom!  Just adorable!

It's a bit chilly out this morning, but I think
it's supposed to warm up.  We had quite a
rain last night, but no thunder  or lightening.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a storm again.
Naturally.  My grandson, Ethan, is graduating.

Romans 12:2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—
his good, pleasing and perfect will.

purple on purple

I was super happy with how this turned out.
I love the stitching pattern. Now that I
can stitch again, I'm finishing up some of
the patterns that I had ordered before I
had my surgery. I also have some really
great images that I can use with other patterns.
What I'd like to do is combine patterns
into new, different patterns. This is not
one of those!

We had an awesome thunderstorm last night!
It lasted almost two hours when all was said
and done.  I love the thunder, but one thunder
clap was so loud it made me jump and even
B'Elanna jumped up from her nap!

Romans 10:8-9

But what does it say? “The word is near you
in your mouth and in your heart”
(that is, the word of faith which we preach):
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus
and believe in your heart that God has raised Him
from the dead, you will be saved.

New fun fold

This is such an easy peasy fold that I'll
probably do more-not to mention I love
how it turned out! I didn't take a picture of
the inside, but the top folds up and the bottom
forms a pocket. There is a card inside that
can be removed and a message can be
written there, or stamped or whatever.

I went to the store yesterday and saw a
snow cone machine. This one you press
the top and it spins it and crushes the
ice. I had one when I was a kid that was
a snowman and it had a hollow belly
that was like a grater. You had to turn
the handle and it would crush the ice as
it came through. It was so much fun. Of
course, the handle turning stuff doesn't
do much for me now. But this is so much fun
and you can even get the cones-which I won't
use again because they are a pain in the rear.
I'll just put it in a glass. I got cotton candy
flavouring because there was only about
three and I didn't like the others. It's a
nice refreshing snack.

Isaiah 55:6

Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.

Bluebirds

I'm not happy with how this photographed,
but I couldn't get it to photograph right with
the flash so I had to take it off. The card is
actually purple, but it looks pretty washed
out in the picture. Other than that, I like it.

I love the stitching pattern!

I went to the Dr. yesterday and got a clean
bill of health.  That's always good to hear.
He was impressed with my range of motion.
I've been working really hard at it.

John 16:33

I have told you these things,
so that in me you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble.
But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Hugs on napkin cards

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.
I was going to make a bigger card and make it
three panels but it didn't look right so I went
with the regular size. With the last panel
I'm going to try embossing on it. I don't
know if it will bring up the napkin or not,
but I hope it won't.

You can see how much I love my word dies!  I put
some wink of Stella on the hummingbirds (that's
just a glitter glue pen) and it really shows up
on the photo so I was excited about that.  Usually
I can't get things like that to photograph well.

Yesterday I got a wonderful surprise from my grandkids!
Jake, Ethan and Anthony brought over these flowers
from them, their sister Samantha and their sister,
Bri, who is in the Army in Africa.  I was so touched!

And finally, I got a cute rock from my friend, Pam.
She loves to paint rocks and leave them in the
schoolyard. (she's an interpreter in an elementary
school) .  Unfortunately the kids keep taking them
home.  The idea was to have a colourful rock garden
but it isn't quite working out that way!

John 4:11
Dear friends, since God so loved us,
we also ought to love one another.

Napkin art

I've seen people use napkins on cards, but
they were always done with a hot iron and
looked pretty complicated, so when someone
posted a card on a group I belong to, and used
glue it looked pretty cool. Except I can never
find any napkins. Someone else mentioned
that and another lady said she had plenty.
She asked for my address and sent me a
whole package full of lots of different kinds!

I think I can co better, it seems pretty plain,
but it was my first time playing with napkins.
I  probably should have put a mat behind the
panel.  I have lots more to play with, though!

Today my mother has been gone three months.
I mourn the things we could have had together,
but never did.  I'm glad she is out of pain
both physically and mentally.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray continually,
give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Wise owl

My grandson, Ethan, is graduating this
month. I remembered I had seen a
pattern of a graduation owl so I looked
around and finally found it. I had a lot
of trouble stitching it because all I have
to do is get started on something and
my shoulder/arm starts complaining. I think
it took me three days to do this little owl.

I think he came out great, though.

I had my first PT yesterday.  Mostly all she
did was show me how to do eight different
exercises, make sure I was doing them right
(which is no guarantee I'm doing them right
now because I am not sure.) and then send
me home.  I didn't have to hang out there
which I was happy about.  I'm supposed to do
them 3-4 times a day.  The two that I did  them
yesterday was way more than enough, so
doing it three times for the first time today
is going to be a challenge.  It hurts.  However.
She was amazed at my range of motion for only
being out of surgery six weeks, so I was happy
about that!

Colossians 4:2-4

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message,
so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ,
for which I am in chains.  Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.

Dreamy ATC's

I made one of these ATC's for the May
RAK attack on my ATC group. Then it
kind of just morphed into a bunch of
them. They all look similar, but they are
not going to all be going to the same
person, so that's ok.

Last night was the last Monday sign class.
Everyone enjoyed pizza.  I miss the classes
when they are not going, but I still have
Sunday.  Maybe this week I'll be able
to sign more than just one song.  Sigh.
I have to keep telling myself I AM getting
better.  The pain is tolerable now.  Until later,
I suppose, when I go to PT!  They're
probably going to try to kill me.  It turns
out, though, that I will have the same
therapist as when this whole thing started,
so that's pretty cool.

scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Dancing in the rain

I pulled out umbrella man for a couple
more cards. I found this cool paper
at wait for it....hobby lobby. Where else?
I thought it would be perfect for this
card. I wanted the sentiment on the
front but it didn't fit right so I opted
for putting it on the inside instead.

I signed the first two songs in church yesterday
and unfortunately paid for that.  Between signing
on Saturday at breakfast and Sunday at
church, my arm is screaming at me.  I'm not
happy about that.  It makes me wonder how
long it will be before I can do things without
having pain.  I know the pain is MUCH less
than it was and I'm thankful for that, but I'm not
really a very patient person as anyone who
knows me will tell  you!

One more cute picture that I found on facebook:

Proverbs 17:22

A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Last but not least

This is the last of the alcohol ink cards
-for the time being anyway. They were
all made into a set and given to a friend
of mine. She just got them yesterday and
said she loved them. I was happy.

Yesterday was the silent breakfast and
it went really well. Everyone tried their
best to sign and I was really surprised
at how well everyone did. I was only in
that class one time, so I'd never really
seen any of them sign. They did great!

your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
But if you do not forgive men their trespasses,
neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Hope and love

These cards are from last week when I
was playing with my perfect pearls. I
love how they turned out!

This morning is our  silent breakfast.  On Saturday
all we had was a beginners class, so it will be
good practice for them-and me.   It's always
pretty fun, but I don't know any of them
so I'm a little nervous about that.  I will know
Pam and Coleen, though, so at least I won't be
totally surrounded by people I  don't know.

To receive glory and honor and power;
For You created all things,
And by Your will they exist and were created.”

Sympathy card

I hate having to make sympathy cards. It's
so sad to lose someone you love. My friend,
Ruth, lost her father last week. I say “lost”
but she knows where he is-in Heaven with Jesus!
That's the happy part, because we still miss them
like crazy, we know we'll see them again.

I had a good time at coffee chat last night
and met Pam's friend, Carolyn, who is
deaf.  The good part is that I got a lot of
what she said, but some Pam had to voice.
I just need more practice.

you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble.
But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Special friends

I love the sentiment on this card!
The flowers are made with perfect pearls.
I'm kind of into them and alcohol ink
right now, so expect to see more, LOL.
I wanted to use the sentiment but it's
really too big to be anything other than a
focal point on a regular card, so this card
is larger and it works out perfectly!

It was pretty nice yesterday and dry.  But
the other day it was not so dry.  My favourite
Mexican restaurant got a little waterlogged.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this picture!

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
and all are justified freely by his grace through

gilding flakes

I've been waiting to play with my new
gilding flakes but it turned out I needed
a special glue that, naturally, I had to
order. That came yesterday! The first card
I made looked a little weird to me until I
realised that it would look a whole lot better
on black card stock.

They are SO MESSY!  gold flakes
everywhere and do NOT sneeze or breathe!

I am finally free of the sling!  I have new
home exercises to do and have set up PT to
start next week for 4 weeks.  Best of all, I've
been cleared to sign!  Yay!

We had an amazing storm yesterday evening
and into the night.  I loved every bit of it!
