Pearl alcohol ink

While looking around on pinterest I
discovered a couple of products I'd never
heard of-one being pearl alcohol ink.
It is so cool! I don't know how well
it shows up in this picture, but it is so
shiny and shimmery.

These were done on kraft card stock.  I have
tons of it and never think to use it, so maybe
I need to make a set of these for someone.

It's not half bad outside today, but I hear tomorrow
will be up to 72 degrees!  It should be a red letter
day as I have an appointment with the ortho dr.
and I assume I will be out of the sling.  Finally.
As for today, I have another appointment and then
lunch with Dianne which I am looking forward to.

I need this verse:

Matthew 11:28

Come to me, all you who are weary
and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Happy Tuesday!

New blue tree

The more I looked at the card from yesterday
the more I hated it all the way around so
I'm pitching it and I made a new one which
I LOVE!!! I mean, I really love this. I think
it's probably one of the best I've ever done
and even better-it came from my own mind,
not borrowed from other ideas.

I popped the front over the oval so the oval
is recessed.  I don't think I've ever tried
that before, but I've seen it done.  The corner
die came with my gemini die cutter.
My favourite thing of all they included.

Romans 10:13

for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord
will be saved.”

Tree of blue

My friend Pam and I were sitting
at Wendy's yesterday watching the rain
and musing about possible snow. (and
yes, we got a dusting.) She said green was
not her favourite coulour and wondered
why God couldn't have made grass and
trees in shades of blue. Since I obviously
couldn't give her a blue tree, I did the next
best thing and made a card with a blue tree.
It bothers me that the bottom of the tree
looks crooked but looking at the tree it's
not crooked. I tried stamping it straight
at the bottom but then the tree itself was crooked!

Maybe it's just me that's crooked...LOL

John 13:34

A new command I give you: Love one another.
As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

Just a pink note

I've always loved this flourish and flowers
die cut set so when I saw a bunch of
cards on pinterest made with the set
I decided to pull mine out. I like
what I ended up with.

We're back to cold weather again.  I wonder if
it will ever be warm?  The only thing that gives
me hope is all the green that is appearing
in the grass, trees, everywhere!

James 4:8

Come near to God and he will come near to you.
Wash your hands, you sinners,
and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

cool dragonfly!

I found these dragonflies at hobby lobby
the other day and they were 30% off.
I didn't know what I would do with them
but they were too cool to pass up.
The only thing I wish I'd done differently
on this card is to back the panel up with
some black card stock. That would have
made it really pop.

Tonight is the coffee chat in Auburn and
now that I can drive I will be able to go.
I always look forward to that.

Those who sow in tears
Shall reap in joy.

rolodex cards finale

I realised I never posted the rest of the
rolodex cards, so I'll just put them all
on now since I never made a card.

I do have an excuse, though.  I went and saw
"Breakthrough" last night.  Take your tissues.
What an amazing film!  I highly recommend it!

Galatians 4:7

So you are no longer a slave,
but God’s child; and since you are his child,
God has made you also an heir.

Dragonfly in blue

I was playing with my border dies again
and what I had intended to do was put
a different colour under the border , but
for some reason I got distracted so it all
ended up one colour. I still like it.

It's been so nice the last few days. I

Have hope-finally-that maybe the warm
weather will be here and stay for a while.
We did have a frost advisory last night,
though, which I thought was weird.

Deuteronomy 6:5

You shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart, with all your soul,
and with all your strength.

Colourful blooms

I have to admit, I pretty much 100%
stole this card from pinterest, but theirs
was way better than mine, so I don't feel
too guilty!

Nonetheless, I like it.  Sometimes  you
just have to borrow someone else's ideas.
We crafters all do it.

Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous
day and hopefully today will be as
well, but I think it's going to be a bit
cooler. Cool is OK. I'd rather have
warm, but I can live with jacket weather.

Psalm 94:19

In the multitude of my anxieties within me,
Your comforts delight my soul.

A very golden hello

This new “Hello” die came with the die
cutting machine and this is the first
time I've used it. It is so pretty! As you can
see, I'm into alcohol inks again. I got some
new ones but I'm waiting on something to
go with it so I won't give the secret away
just yet.

I trust everyone had a wonderful Easter
and that we all remember what it represents
to us.  We serve a LIVING God!

Matthew 28:6

He is not here; for He is risen,
as He said. Come, see the place
where the Lord lay.

Rinse and repeat

This is another bookmark card. The only
reason I'm posting it is because I wanted
to be able to say that today is my 14th
anniversary of not smoking! I'm so proud
of myself but I couldn't have done it without
God's help. Every time I wanted a cigarette
I prayed my way through it. Remember-
with God nothing is impossible!

Psalm 86:7

When I am in distress, I call to you,
    because you answer me.

Just fooling around

I have so many dies, so I've been playing
with a few to see how they work in my new
machine. Now, what to do with these? So
I made these two cards-both of which I hate-
but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess.

The one with the little girl I can put a
sentiment on, but I have no clue what to do with
the floral one.  I hate to pitch it, but it looks
kind of stupid in my opinion.

I'm excited because we might have a thunder
storm today!  At least I hope so.  Then it
 will really seem like spring!

Hebrews 2:18

Because he himself suffered when he was tempted,
he is able to help those who are being tempted.

Alcohol ink notecards

Every so often I come across an alcohol
ink card that makes me want to pull mine
out and play. I still haven't really mastered
the art-especially on yupo paper which is
supposed to make them look even better.
Well, not mine. But I still have fun with it
and I like how they turned out.

I'm pretty happy with these.  I wish I'd had
just plain gold card stock instead of the glitter,
but It was what I had on hand.  The glitter
card stock I had to cut twice to get it to
easily come off the die.  The machine isn't
the problem, it's the glitter card stock.  But
the effect is nice, I think.

Philippians 2:8

And being found in appearance as a man,
He humbled Himself and became obedient
to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

This is a good verse for Easter week.

Happy Wednesday!

Wildflower notecards

I am having so much fun with a die cutter
that actually cuts! I've had these flowers for
quite a while and I thought they would look
great with the new border dies I got. I
love these dies! I have an admission:
I am addicted to dies. Yes, it's true. I need
to find a 12 step program!

Aren't they pretty?!

It is supposed to be in the 70's today.  I hope
so!  In addition to my longing for warm weather,
I still have tons of little branches all over the
yard that I haven't been able to pick up for
one reason or another-rain, cold, surgery...
speaking of which, my arm is feeling better
every day.  Every night not so much.  But
that's what pain pills are for.

2 Corinthians 1:4

who comforts us in all our tribulation, that
we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble,
with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Happy Tuesday!

Bookmark card

This bookmark card came out so well I
think I'm going to make a couple more-
in a few days. I way overdid it yesterday.
I'm getting tired of not being able to do
much without my arm starting to hurt.
But it is much better than it was, so I
guess I can't complain too much.

The only thing I don't like is that it's too big
for the standard sized card and too small
for the next sized card.  It will float around
in the envelope, but oh, well.  I'd use my
envelope punch board to make the right sized
envelope but that requires math and I just
can't quite figure it out.

 Ephesians 4:32

Be kind and compassionate to one another,
forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Botanical beauties

It's been a while since I used this set
of botanical dies. I have to admit that
I pretty much stole the idea from pinterest,
but, hey-I changed the colours!

I went to class yesterday. I signed the
vocab words, no sentences, and a little
bit to the two deaf students there. I came
home with a very sore arm and no sleep
again. The problem is that I end up
getting sleepy around 11 am. The bigger
problem is that Lili hates it when I close
my eyes and makes these awful squawks.
It drives me crazy. I'm not sure what she
thinks is going on.

Matthew 11:28

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.

New die cutting machine!

I finally had enough of struggling with my
die cutting machine that only cut partially
because it didn't have enough pressure. I
finally went and bought an electronic one
and I LOVE it!! It cuts everything the first
time. Even intricate dies. I am in Heaven.
I have so many dies that I couldn't use
because they wouldn't cut out so now I
feel like I have all new dies again!

How cool is this?!

My arm is doing well.  I'm still in the sling until
May 1st.  He's given me more exercises to do at
home-less passive-but I'm not having trouble with
them.  It's nice to be out of the sling!  At night it's
a different story and I'm still in a lot of pain because
of stiffness.  He said elbows and arms don't
like to be in slings.  Yes.  This is definitely the truth!

Psalm 139:23-24

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.

Happy Monday!

great design, not so great colour!

This card didn't come out like I hoped. I don't like the colour of the card stock. But it's still a great design. ...
