February RAK attack card

I love doing the RAK attacks. I was the
victim” once and it was so much fun. It
lifts your spirits when things seem pretty
hard to deal with. So I never miss a
chance-actually I'm on the monthly reminder
list-to brighten someone's day. Here's
the card I made for this month.

I always tuck a couple of ATC's in there as well.

It snowed again last night.  Maybe an inch or so.
Not too bad, I guess, but I am so over this snow
and cold.  It can get warm again any time.

John 15:4

Remain in me, as I also remain in you.

No branch can bear fruit by itself;

it must remain in the vine.

Neither can you bear fruit

unless you remain in me.

Happy Monday!

Hello from Tinkerbell

I've had this stamp for forever and decided
maybe I should pull it out again. Maybe
I should go through ALL my stamps and
pull them out once in a while. The same
with all the dies I have. I am a hoarder.
I need to find a meeting. Anyway...

Tinkerbell  herself is embossed in gold and
why I didn't think to emboss the Hello part
is beyond me.  It would have looked nicer.

Tomorrow will be another hard day for my
dad.  He has to pick up the death certificate.
I think her ashes will be back sometime this
week as well.  We will wait for a nice day
before laying her to rest with her parents in
Toledo, which was her wish.  There is one more
place in the family plot for my father.  It
still doesn't seem quite real.

2 Corinthians 5:6-8
So we are always of good courage.
We know that while we are at home in the body
we are away from the Lord,
for we walk by faith, not by sight.
Yes, we are of good courage, and we would
rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

Happy Sunday!

Music, music

One of the card sites I'm on had copied a
request from the internet about a veteran
who was lonely because he didn't get any
mail. They showed a picture of him sitting
in the window looking at the mailbox sadly.
They asked for cards for his birthday which
is coming up in April and wanted people to
start sending them right away. So here
is what I came up with for that sweet man.

I've had this image for quite some time, and
it seemed perfect for this colour card and design.
I love the corner because it reminds me of a
birthday bow.

Matthew 19:26

Jesus looked at them and said,
“With man this is impossible,
but with God all things are possible.”

Happy Saturday!

Zebra portrait

This one is mine! I found the pattern on
pinterest and I love it! Adding the Zebra
just made it perfect! There are just some
cards I don't want to get rid of.

Speaking of cards...we went through some of
my mom's things yesterday and I brought home
all the cards I'd sent her that she saved.
Plus a cross stitch that I made  years ago
and my sister in law, laurel, who died recently,
made into a pillow.  I told my mom I was going to
make it and she asked if I could add another
little girl.  Surprisingly, I was able to.  I don't know
how I did cross stitch.  I tried to make one a few
years ago and kept messing up the stitches.
Maybe because I was younger.   It was another
hard day but not the last, I'm sure.

It was warm enough yesterday to melt away most
of the snow!  But now we are back to cold weather
and wind.  You can't win for losing, I guess.

Romans 8:39

neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in
Christ Jesus our Lord.

Happy Friday!

Meerkat munchies

This is my kind of Valentine treat. I know
someone I'd like to name a cockroach
after. No names, LOL

This is one of my newest little girls.
She kind of reminds me of “the thinker”
so I used that sentiment on the card.
I think she's a little cutie!

Yesterday was a difficult day. We went to the
funeral home to make arrangements.  I've
known the folks there for years; they
used to come in to the restaurant.   So
that was comforting.  I'm not sure how long
Robin is staying, but dad needs a lot of help
right at the moment so she is spending her
time there rather than mostly with me.
The address for the obituary is:

2 Corinthians 12:9

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you,
for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses,
so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Happy Thursday!

Heaven's newest resident

At 1:15 AM February 12, my mother, Barbara
Sanders, entered into Heaven's gates to meet
her Savior face to face. It's been a long road
for her. A hard road many times. But the
reward is well worth the journey.

My sister, Robin, drove through a rain, then
snow storm all night Sunday night, from
North Carolina. My brother traveled from
Detroit in that same storm, this time just
snow. My son, Nathan, and his wife, Crystal,
as well, from Grand Rapids. God got them
all here safely. Monday night into Tuesday
we had a terrible ice storm. My brother and
son are safely home and my sister will probably
leave this weekend.

The Lord allowed her to see one last birthday.
On February 1,  she turned 82 years of age.

We will miss her, but as Christians we know that
our loved ones are not "lost".  We know exactly
where they are and what's more, we know -we
are ASSURED - that we will be reunited with
them once again.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

So you see, it is never a farewell for Christians.
It is, "I'll see you again someday."
Until then, Mom.

Are you ready?  Have you accepted Christ
as your Savior?

A late birthday

I finally got an address to send my granddaughter,
Bri's birthday card. It's only two days late.
Today. When she receives it, it will be a little
later than that, but better late than never, I guess.

I heard we had a chance of freezing drizzle today,
but it looks like they've moved that on to tonight
which works for me since Cody and Pam are
traveling back from Indy today.  They've been
on a weekend jaunt  to an anime convention.
From the pictures he's been posting, it looks
like they are having a great time.

Isaiah 43:19

See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
    and streams in the wasteland.

Happy Sunday!

great design, not so great colour!

This card didn't come out like I hoped. I don't like the colour of the card stock. But it's still a great design. ...
