Am I blue?

I should be.  After 60's and
rain yesterday, it's supposed to
snow today.  I see no evidence
of that yet, but it is colder
than yesterday.

I got a new die the other day.  It's not
exactly what I thought it would be,
but it's OK.  I should have put
centers in the other flowers, but I
thought it looked better this way-until
I see it now on the computer screen.
Isn't that always the way?

I ordered two more dies yesterday
from the Walmart site.   They have
so much great stuff that you will never
see in the store.  I use the  savings
catcher, so I actually paid nothing
for the dies.  Good deal, eh?  Since
Walmart is my unofficial bank, it's only
right that they give me some perks.
One will ship right to the store and
I will probably get it today.  The other
ships from the manufacturer, so I'll
get that in the mail, most likely by
the end of the month.  That's the
one I want the most!  I can't
wait to get it!

Happy hump day!

Tiny flowers

I found some itty bitty flowers at
hobby lobby yesterday-hey, I
had time to kill while B'Elanna was
being groomed!  Anyway....they were
half off so I decided to get some.  These
flowers came with bead centers and
the more I looked at them the more
I thought I could just take the center
off and put something else there.  Sure
enough, that worked.  I may go back
and get some more colours tomorrow.
You can't beat a half off sale!  For now,
these little brown ones worked perfectly
for what I had in mind.

It's not the same flowers I usually use,
but I think they are just as cute.  They
just don't lay as flat.    I'm pretty
pleased with the card.

It's pouring rain!  The weatherman has
promised me thunderstorms today, but
I don't know if I believe him or not.
He lies a lot.  :)  If it does happen, it will
happen around noon when Cody and I
are planning on having lunch together.
Naturally.

Tomorrow it is supposed to be back
in the 30's!  No wonder the robins
are back.  They are totally confused.

Happy Tuesday!

Pointsettias??

I think these are pointsettias!
They were pretty so I got
the pattern.

It's not quite as pretty as in the
picture, They usually aren't.
But it's Okay.

The songs went well yesterday.  I
was disappointed that Pam was
late so she missed the first one,
but oh, well.  I think I'm going to
sit out this week as I don't know the
songs and two of them I don't even
have glosses for.    One song I kind
of know, but not that well.

I'm still waiting for the warm weather
they have promised.  I think it got
up to 36 degrees yesterday.  Tomorrow
it's supposed to be in the 50's and
thunderstorms!  Dare I  hope?!  That
would be so awesome!   Cody and I
are going to get together and  have
lunch.  That doesn't happen too
often as he is pretty busy, but
I enjoy the times we can spend together.
Nathan and Andy are so far away
I don't get to see them very often.
Nobody lives close anymore.

I signed up for two classes from our
church (besides sign class) , both
are for email learning scripture.
Then last night I decided to join
the new members class.  I've been
going to the church for nearly a
year, so I am going to attend and
possibly join.  Unless I hear something
outrageous, and I don't expect to,
they believe the same as I do.

I have to take B'Elanna to the
groomers (beauty parlour to her!)
soon  so I will say:

Happy Monday!

silky cross

I chalked around this cross
stitching and I don't like it a
bit.  Maybe I will make another
one without the chalk.  Anyway,
I used a silky embroidery thread
which is hard to work with but
really makes a nice stitching.

I guess I'm just not that good
at chalking.

I've been working on "Only God
forever"  You really do have to
separate your brain to sing one
thing and sign another and I
hope I don't mess up!  I do love
signing the songs but it can get
a little difficult sometimes.  Not
only in the signing itself, but the
keeping up.  This one is a little fast,
but not ridiculously so.

Nothing going on today.  I plan to
have a quiet day.  But I always
make the disclaimer to God that
these are MY plans, open to
change if He so desires...

Happy Sunday!

Lattice window

I saw a lattice window card on
pinterest except I don't think they
made the window all the way
through, just on the front of
the card.  I thought it would
look good all the way through.

I think it turned out well but
I didn't pay attention to how
I oriented the lattice so it's a
little crooked!  Probably no one
would have noticed if I hadn't
mentioned it!  I need some different
colour tiny paper flowers but I can't
remember where I got them.  They
work perfectly for this flourish
and all I have is yellow and green
and only a couple of them.  Any of
my craft friends know where I can
get some?
It's still cold out, but not windy.
I hear it's supposed to get
warm this weekend.  Dare I
believe it?  I found a cute picture
on facebook of a wolf sitting in
the snow.  The caption read:
The groundhog said 6 more weeks
of winter.   So I ate him.  He had
had his "Phil".  What a riot.  I
wish the wolf really had eaten
that rodent.   He gets on my
last nerve.
I've been practicing like crazy.
The band practice is tonight
so we will see how much that
practice has paid off.  I hope I
can do well tomorrow.
Happy Saturday!

Belated birthday

My son, Andy's birthday was
19th January.  Never fear, the
card got there in time, I just
haven't posted it here yet.  He
likes to fish, so I thought a fish
card would be in order.

It didn't come out like I hoped, but
I still like it.  I did partial embossing
on the top and bottom, then scored
above and below the embossing.
That way there would be a nice
smooth surface to stamp the
"happy birthday"  and also
have no embossing over it.  That
looks weird, in my  opinion.

Here is a stitched card for an
early Valentine which I never send
anyway, so it doesn't matter.  I just
wanted to make the pattern!

Dinner was fun yesterday. Tacos were
the special and since I haven't had
tacos in forever I had to try them.
They came with refried beans which
were pretty soupy, but otherwise
everything was good.  We went over
all the songs for Sunday.  I think
I will be OK, but I can't do it alone,
I will have to have God standing
next to me.  Or better yet, just
taking my  hands and doing it for
me, LOL.  You know, kind of like
"Jesus, take the wheel".  Which I have
said on occasion when the roads were
pretty slippery....  I do this for His
glory and if I mess up, I mess up, but
I KNOW He will be right there beside
me and we can do it together!

Happy Friday!

Happy Birthday!

My granddaughter, Bri, will be 17
years old in a few days.  It's so
hard to believe how fast these
kids are growing.  This is not,
however, the card she will get,
just a random one using my new
corner punch.

I'm happy with how it turned out.
I need to use the punch a little
more.  I used to have several
corner punches but they got so
worn out that even punching on
tin foil to sharpen them stopped
working.  All good things must
come to an end, I suppose.
It's not too cold out today even though
they said it would be.  But the wind bites
right through you.  Poor B'Elanna.  She
wants to explore the yard and I keep
telling her to hurry up, mommy is
freezing!  It doesn't seem to bother her.
I'm going out to dinner tonight with
Coleen to go over the song and hopefully
I will sign two this Sunday.  I'm not
really all that good yet, but I love to
sign.  I will have been studying
two years in April.  Lest you think
I should know it by now, consider
this:  We had to study our own
language for 12 years.  And most
people still can't speak/spell it!
Just sayin'!
Happy Thursday!

great design, not so great colour!

This card didn't come out like I hoped. I don't like the colour of the card stock. But it's still a great design. ...
