Joy!

What brings me joy in life?  Beyond
knowing that Jesus is my Savior,
I guess it would be learning to sign,
friends, family, people I know
are in my corner.  I hope they
know that about me as well!

I have had this song book for ages
and all of a sudden I'm getting a
lot of use out of it!  I think the card
turned out OK.  I'm just not doing
my best right now, I don't think.
But it is what it is.  I did order a
few more patterns so get ready to
see more stitching.

Class was OK last night.  I had a bad
headache all day so I don't feel like
I did all that great, but Matt, the deaf
young man, understood what I was
saying and that's what matters.  Pam
read an Aseop's tale.  Then one person
put it into "real" words, and a second
signed the short story.  Thankfully
most of them were very short!
Pam did tell me that she felt like
my confidence was getting much better,
so I was glad about that.  Maybe next
week I won't have a headache.

A year ago today the world lost a
really wonderful man.  My daughter in
law, Pam, her mother, LuAnn, and brother,
Tim, as well as his wife, Sue, and Cody,
are all remembering the year anniversary
of the death of their husband, father and
father in law, Dennis.  He was a quiet guy,
but look out for the zingers!  He had a
sharp sense of humour and would do
anything for anyone any time.  The world
is a little less happy without him here
but Heaven is really celebrating him.
Usually anniversaries are used to celebrate
a good thing like weddings.  But as we
remember Dennis, it can be a good thing,
because we celebrate his life and the
things that he brought to the world and
all those around him.  Most of all, we
celebrate the fact that he knew Jesus as
his Savior and is with Him this very
moment.  In the end, no matter how much
we mourn a "lost" loved one, we know they
aren't really lost if they knew Jesus.
And we know we will all be reunited
once more!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Glory, Glory!

That's what the card says, right?

I'm still deciding if I like the card or
not.  It did not come out the way I
envisioned it.  And on my screen right
now it looks square.  Maybe that's
because I'm not used to having the
other graphics card.  If it looks that
way to you, it's not.  I think I need
to go back to the stitching patterns
and use someone else's ideas for
a while.  I'm not feeling particularly
creative lately.

I have to go looking for my desk.
It's lost again.  As soon as I find it
it will go missing again, though, so
I'm not sure why I look for it, LOL.  I'm
sure it's there somewhere under all
the paper, stamps, ink pads and other
miscellaneous odds and ends.

I don't know what we are doing in
class tonight, so it's going to be
interesting, but then, it always is.
I really like the class even though
I have no aspirations of being a
interpreter.  Who knows what God
has in mind?  Right now, learning
is learning and I'm all for it.  I
even did pretty well signing the
songs in church yesterday.  All
except for the first one which
was really fast.   I can sign them,
I just can't always keep up with
the music.  But I try and I'm
pretty sure that's all God is asking
of me at this point.  I listen closely and
try to hear Him when He prompts me
to step out into new territory.  I just
enjoy learning.  I feel like I BELONG
in this group, with these people.    That's
a good feeling, that you belong
somewhere.  I haven't had it much
in my life, so I'm cherishing it.

Happy Monday!

Warm Sunday morning!

I'm enjoying the warmth this
morning!  Yesterday ended up to
be pretty warm, too.  I love it.  I
just wish it would stay.  But all
good things must come to an end,
I suppose.  To think there are actually
people who love the cold!?!  I don't
understand that.

My brother's friend/neighbor had
a heart attack this past week.  A
blood clot traveled to his heart.
But here's the scary part-he's only
43 years old.  So I made him a
card to cheer him up (I hope).
He's out of the hospital now, so
that's a very good sign.  I hope he
has a full recovery.

I popped the sentiment up.  I'm not sure
how much extra I have to put on a
square card.  I usually don't make them
(I think I've mentioned that.  Sorry.) but
this particular pattern was square and I
liked it so I didn't feel like looking for
another one.

I very much enjoyed my dinner with
my friend, Coleen, last night.  I'm
enjoying getting to know her.

Happy Sunday.

Last two cards

I finished the set.  Yay!

I just love how they all turned out!
It is supposed to be warm this weekend!
I will cherish the warmth as I know it
will soon be coming to an end.  Sigh.
I'm looking forward to today.  It
promises to be a fun day!
Happy Saturday!

Cold days are a'comin

Brr, it was cold this morning!
I stepped out the door and told
God I was not ready for this, but
I don't think that's going to change
His mind, lol.

I had the worst dream this morning,
full of evil.   I've never had a dream
like that before.  I am very good at
lucid dreaming, so when I realized
I was dreaming I started changing
it but no changing was going to make
the dream any better.  Finally I turned
on the light and started praying for
God to release me from these images.
I don't even know what the dream
was about, but I felt evil around
me.  I hope never to have that
experience again!  But I've heard
it said that as you draw closer to
God, Satan works overtime to
pull you away, so maybe that's what
was going on.  I try to draw closer
to God every moment of every day.
That's what we are supposed to
do, right?!

On to the cards.

Two more cards and this set
will be complete and ready to send
to my friend.  I just love doing this
stuff!  Surprise!  Unless she's reading
the blog, lol.

I like how this came out.  I think it
might have looked better with a border
on the embossed piece to match the
blue of the oval, but I never think of
these things until I see the card on the
computer.  I'm not sure why that is!

I'm having lunch with Dianne today.
Tomorrow, of course, is sign class,
then I'm going BACK to waterloo
to practice signing with the band.
I haven't been going back because
each way is half an hour and as it
is I'm going Sunday, Monday and
Saturday.  But I asked my friend,
Coleen, if she wanted to go to an
early dinner after and she said yes.
I need to practice!  I'm getting better
at signing the songs, though, and I'm
happy about that.  I'm still very curious
about where the Lord is going with
this, but I'm sitting back and enjoying the
ride for the time being.  I'm meeting
new friends, getting out of the house
and learning a language.  It's been
a good life.  I miss John, and always
will, but I'm grateful I'll see him
again someday.  For now I know he's
safe in the hands of his Savior.  Listen
to me.  Time to say

Happy Friday!!!!!

Trust in the Lord

I "borrowed" this card from pinterest
(naturally) and when it came to
the sentiment I was stumped.  I looked
through all my sentiment stamps and
when I saw this one I knew it was the
one.  I need this reminder every single
day.  I have problems or concerns
that I give over gladly to the Lord
and then just as quickly take them
back.  It's kind of like a tug of war
with me and giving things to the
Lord.  I read a story once about a
man who went out on the lake in
his boat for half an hour.  That
half an hour was his designated
"worry time".  When he came back
in that's it, no more worrying about
what was bothering him.  I wish
I could just hand things over to
God and not worry anymore.  And
besides, we all know that story was
a fake.  He kept worrying!  Nobody
is fooling me on that one!  LOL.

I'm pretty pleased with how the
card turned out.

This card is the third in the set of
six that I began showing yesterday.

I'm loving how these cards are
turning out!  I need to think outside
the box a little more often!

Happy Thursday!  Only one more
workday left!

Hello, hump day!

Today would have been Sadie's 22nd
hatchday.  I miss her a lot.  She was
 my longest relationship besides my
family, but I consider my "pets" to
be family, anyway.

I got a card from a friend yesterday
(couldn't resist, Kelly, if you're reading
this!) that was supposed to be a
blank card when she bought it but
the cards turned out to be sympathy
cards instead.  Since she is just as nutty
as I am-which is why we get along so
well-she decided to send me the card
anyway because she knew I'd get
a laugh.  So I decided she needed a
set of cards that really were blank inside.

These are the first two of a set of
6.  So I guess if she's reading this, the
cards will not be a surprise.  I'm not
sure if she does or not.  The panels are
technically bookmarks but I decided
to think out of the box and make them
panels on the card instead and I think
they came out fantastically!  I'm very
happy with them.

Supposedly we are to get some rain
today but I won't believe it until I
see it.  They lie too much!!

I managed to get the whole house
cleaned yesterday.  Well, OK, I
haven't dusted yet, but I'm the only
one who knows that (you didn't
hear it from me!)  It's surprising
how much of a mess just B'Elanna and
I can stir up.  A lot was grass clippings
that get tracked in every time I mow.
The birds get vacuumed after every
single day.  My poor vacuum is very
abused.  So I can't really blame them
for the mess.  B'Elanna has taken
to putting her food on the carpet
which is dark.  I end up stepping on
it which is a tad uncomfortable.  I
used to get large bags of food but
when Neelix died, there was no need
for a large bag.  I couldn't get that type
in a small bag so I settled on kibbles
and bits.  It turns out she loves them
but she likes to take some and run away
from her bowl to eat them privately,
I guess.  Perhaps she forgets where
she left them?  Dogs are so weird!
But I don't know what I would do
without her.  It was hard losing
Neelix, but I'm glad I still have one
furry friend to hang on to.  Birds
aren't the cuddliest of creatures!

Happy Wednesday!

great design, not so great colour!

This card didn't come out like I hoped. I don't like the colour of the card stock. But it's still a great design. ...
