Easter cross

I got a couple more stitching
patterns.  Actually, only one
but they gave me a freebie for
rating their site.  How cool is that?
I don't usually send Easter cards,
but I've found some really
nice patterns and the stitching
keeps me busy/happy so I went
on the hunt for  more.

The pattern was shown in all
gold thread and at first I thought
I might not like it, but decided to
try it and it looks great.  I'm not
sure now, if it would look good any other
way.  I used the glitter paper for the
mat and pink gems for the corners.

Today I have nothing to do!
Yesterday I ran around practically
all day.  Tomorrow evening I'm
going to church where they are
showing "Zootopia"  It looks really
cute and I'm looking forward to
seeing it.  Not so much that there's
probably going to be a bunch of
kids there.  I don't much like kids.
I like BABIES.  I never understood
that they became bratty little kids.
Missed that memo, I guess.
Maybe they will be well behaved.
Look, everyone.  I made a funny!

Happy Thursday!

Embedded embossing

I haven't done this for quite
a while.  I started a card before
this, but....got ink on it and there
was no way I could fix it.  It was
too near the bottom to put on a flower
or anything.  Don't you hate that?  I
had to start over.  I like how
it turned out.

The white scribble along the
side was glued on, then the whole
thing run through an embossing
folder.  I've had the die for quite
a while, too, and don't use it very
often.  I think it was perfect for
this project.   I bet it would have
looked ever better if I had embedded
that as well.  I never thought about it!
It is ridiculously cold outside.
I'm grateful I'm not in New England,
especially the parts that got 2 feet
of snow, but still.  Didn't Mother
Nature get the memo that it's
Spring?  She needs to be found
and gotten back on her meds.
Seriously.
Happy Wednesday!

Z fold Easter card

Actually this is a Z-fold
with a flap.  I'm not sure I like
how it turned out and it
won't stay closed no matter
how much I press down
the score lines.  The sentiment
is popped up so the flap will
tuck underneath.

Inside.

 I didn't think I was going to
make it to class last night, but the
snow wasn't as bad as expected,
thankfully.  I worked with the
deaf young man again.  He is so
funny and patient.  My fingers
stutter sometimes!  LOL.  It gives
me a little extra practice as I have
to sign the fingerspelled word
to him and vice versa.  I'm learning
some words that I didn't know and
forgetting words I do know.  "Heal"
for example, which we had in a song
the last couple weeks and I can't
remember?  I wanted to pound my
head on the table.  My mind is
filled with so many words that
it isn't easy to recall something
sometimes if I'm talking or
signing.  I can look at something
and forget the name of it once
in a while.  It's kind of like a library.
(I saw this in readers digest once)
when you're a kid you have only a few
books in your library so it's easy to
find the one you want.  As an adult
you have thousands of books so
it's harder to find the book you
want.  That's my story and
I'm sticking to it!!!!!

I think maybe I can do all the songs
next week in church if Coleen wants
a day off. She did the sermon last
week and that's taxing.  Or maybe
we can split them.  I prayed last
summer, "Lord, the next time the
Revelation song is done I will
sign in front of the church."  They
are just now doing it this week.
I guess He had other plans!  You
never can tell with the Lord and
I've tried to learn to roll with it.
He's leading my life and I try to
sit back and see where He takes
me next.  It is a surprise a lot of
the time.

Happy Tuesday!

Birthday easel card

I really love how this turned out!
I love the colours and how the
black shows up so well against
the print.  I wasn't sure that
was going to be the case.

Very, very happy with it!

The weekend was very busy.  I
went to class Saturday morning,
then went back in late afternoon
for practice with the band.  After
that, Pam and I (church Pam, as
my friend Dianne, calls her) went to
pizza hut and I didn't get home until
11 PM.  With the time change, I
was tired.  I didn't wake until 815
which is extremely late for me.  But
then I realized it was really only 715...
I hate the time change.  Indiana
used to not do daylight savings time
but several years ago decided to
join the crowd.  I think part of the
state still doesn't change.  John liked
it because he worked in Michigan,
but that was the only reason.  He
really didn't like the idea of it.  I
worked in Michigan too, and dealt
with the fact that we were an
hour off.  Just sayin'.

I hope the snow quits because I'd
like to go to class tonight.
Unfortunately, we are under an
advisory until 5 AM tomorrow
morning.

Happy Monday!

Music easel card

I love this easel card.  I should make them

more often.  It's a great way to
display a card and so easy to make.

I didn't realize until I got started that
it was a square card, but I'm giving
it to someone to give to someone
else so they can deal with the postage!
It came out just the way I hoped
it would.  I wish I'd have had a higher
flower to use as the prop, but I didn't.
I could have punched a couple and made
one that stood up a little more but it
didn't occur to me at the time!  But I
like it.  Maybe I'll make a few more
in different themes.

It is COLD out and snow was drifting
around when I went out this morning.
Mother nature can't make up her
mind, I guess.

Don't forget to set your clocks ahead
tonight.

Happy Saturday!

Stronger than you believe

I got a bracelet the other day
from Avon that said, "Stronger
than you believe" and thought it
would make an awesome
 sentiment for a card.

I'm super happy with how
it turned out.  It's a full sized
card and there's a reason for
that.  I'm sending it to a friend
with another card enclosed-
that I will post tomorrow-that she
can send to her daughter, so it
needs to be big enough to
accommodate that.   I thought
later that it might have looked
better with a pink mat rather
than just pink behind the negative
die cut, but oh, well.  Maybe I'll
make another one like that
someday.  This die is so big that
you almost have to put it on a
full sized card anyway.

It snowed yesterday!  Nothing
really stuck, there's white here and
there in the grass, but that's just
not the point!!

My dad and I went for coffee
yesterday at a cute coffee house
in Angola.  I love the caramel latte!

Happy Friday!

Sunshine at 7 am?!

I woke up this morning to
sun streaming in the window and
thought surely I had overslept!
I get up, look at the clock and
it's not quite 7 AM.  Wow.  Maybe
Summer will come after all!

I got these backwards, the first
one is the inside.  The front is cut
away so you can see the back of
the inside.  I don't know that the
picture shows that too well, but I
tried.  The black makes it a
little difficult.  Obviously I'm into
black and green at the moment!

This is the front.  I'm very pleased
with how it turned out.  I have
so many cards now, and I don't have
anything to do with them.  Any
suggestions?  I sent a bunch
to my sister, but I still have
a lot left over.

I am also still looking for a home
for Luna if anyone has any ideas.
I really, really need to rehome that
bird.  She deserves better than
what I  can give her.

Now that all that is out of my system,

Happy hump day!

great design, not so great colour!

This card didn't come out like I hoped. I don't like the colour of the card stock. But it's still a great design. ...
