Chill out!

A friend of mine has a lot of stress at her
office (who doesn't, right?!) and is experiencing
some family sadness, so I decided to make this
for her before Christmas. I saw it on pinterest
and thought it was just the perfect thing.
Thanks to my brother in law, Larry, for the blue
ball jar. I was having trouble finding the right
size jar and didn't want to buy an entire package.

I think she's going to get a big kick
out of it. It has both dark chocolate and caramel
M&M's. That alone is worth it, right?!
I saw something else I'd
like to make for her, but I don't know
if I can, since it requires sewing. I'll
see if I can hand sew it, but, well,
I don't hold out high hopes for it!

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine
and puts them into practice is like a wise man
who built his house on the rock.

Gorjuss Christmas

I just love these gorjuss dolls and have made
quite a few in the last weeks. So I decided to
use one on a Christmas card-which I have
not even gotten close to mailing out. I don't
even know if I have enough. I'm not sending
as many this year, though. Too much work.

I didn't get it quite lined up in the center,
but that's part of the charm, right? My story.

My dad and I are meeting my cousin and her
husband for brunch then they are going to see
my mother. She lost both of her parents just
a few months ago-within days of each other.
With all that she's going through, it means
a lot to me that she is being so supportive
of my parents.

Jeremiah 33:3

Call to me and I will answer you and tell
you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

Let it snow! (not really)

A group that I belong to asked for Christmas
cards for a little boy who won't live much
longer. It's all he wants and they are hoping
to get as many as possible. This card didn't
come out exactly how I wanted it to, but
I think he will like it anyway. The glitter dots
will dry flat, but I wanted to get the picture
taken, and they didn't have time to dry.

It's really sad that we have to lose
children to cancer and other diseases,
but I hope this little boy will enjoy his
cards and that it will bring a measure
of comfort to his family that so
many people care.

We talked to the hospice nurses and dad
signed the rest of the papers.  She doesn't know
that the "extra people" are hospice workers,
we just told her they are people who come
around and give extra care .  She has pressure
sores that won't ever heal because she's not eating
properly and one has "tunneled".  So they have
to do their best to keep her comfortable.
  I worry about sepsis.

Isn't this a pleasant post?

Psalm 100:5
     For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Winter wonderland

Yesterday it was raining. I woke up this
morning to lots of snow and more coming.
The roads are lousy and it's not pretty.
If you have to stay home and you have a
view where there's no roads I guess it
would be pretty. Maybe.

Anyway, I made some cards for a friend
for Christmas and I wanted to make a
box to put them in. I used a tool called
an envelope punch board and came up
with this cute box.

The cards inside are just regular cards
but I wanted something that looked
like Christmas since it is a Christmas gift.
Does that even make sense??? LOL

My dad and I have an appointment in just
a little while with the hospice team to find
out what their plan is and ask questions.
My sister will conference in. My mother
hasn't been told that hospice is involved.
She's not actively dying, but it will be
close. It's a hard time for us.

Psalm 119:76

May your unfailing love be my comfort,
according to your promise to your servant.

Happy Monday!

Age is just a number

I saw this card on pinterest, I think, and just
loved it! So I text my daughter in law, Pam,
and said, “how old are you going to be this
year, 31 or 32?” I got an indignant reply,
31. Don't age me another year!” I probably
should have just figured it out, LOL! Oops!
The card came out really cool, though!

I put my Christmas bears up yesterday.  I
think I'm going to have to stop collecting
them because I don't have any more room.
I had to pull up the ones behind the front
ones so you could see them-and I'm missing
probably 5 years here and there!

I have to practice one of my songs,
so I'd better get to it.

Deuteronomy 31:7-8
"Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance.

A horse of a rainbow colour

I wasn't sure how this horse pattern would
come out and at first I didn't think I liked it,
but when it was finished I decided it was OK!

It is raining this morning. Thankfully
the temperature is high enough that it's
only rain. It just seems weird. Snow way
before Thanksgiving-and Thanksgiving
was early this year! Now November is almost over
and it's raining. The weather is very confused.

I hate how the blog shows a huge picture and you
only see a tiny bit of it so I'm trying my friend's
approach which is to post the link and a picture
on facebook, then you can go to it. We'll see
how that goes.

Jeremiah 1:5

 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

Pink Christmas

I've heard of having a blue Christmas, but
never a pink one. There are at least
half a dozen pink Christmas projects in the
group that I joined. So far I've picked two:
a pink ATC and a pink Christmas card.
The ATC is a pattern I've shown before,
I'm sure. But it actually looks pretty cool in pink!

I was super excited at how the Christmas card
came out! The snowman I just got recently,
and is a die with lots of teeny tiny pieces
including the eyes, mouth and buttons,
all of which I free handed because it's next
to impossible to find those things once you
cut them! Behind the snowman (or snow woman
in this case) is a fibre called Angelina fibre. It
bonds to itself when ironed and becomes so
strong that you can use it for appliques and
things like that and run it through the washer
and dryer! It actually becomes a fabric. It's so cool!

Ephesians 2:8-9

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—
and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
not by works, so that no one can boast.

Happy Friday!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I know it's been a long time. My sister in law,
Laurel, died in September and it's been hard
getting going on this again. Then a friend,
(thank you, Judy) said she missed seeing my
blog so I thought I'd better get to it again.

I joined a group recently that does tons of
different swaps. I joined one that is called
a flip bag. I've never made one before, so
it was a learning experience, but it turned out well.

This first picture is the bag itself.  I used a regular
white lunch bag, but I think most people
use craft bags that are more sturdy than your
regular lunch bags.  I didn't have any on hand.
You fold up the bottom and adhere to make a
pocket and now you have two pockets to stuff
with goodies.  here are the ones that will be
stuffed in mine:

I hope everyone has a really great Thanksgiving!

great design, not so great colour!

This card didn't come out like I hoped. I don't like the colour of the card stock. But it's still a great design. ...
